How does it work

CalypsoPrint is installed on a desktop PC or Server that is configured to work with e-RS and extracts e-RS data directly from the system. It captures the referral data into its SQL database which it then assembles into a single document that represents the entire ‘referral’ for clinical review or filing within the EPR or EDMS, or to provide a SQL data source for other Trust IT systems to draw referral information from.

In a typical installation, CalypsoPrint is installed on a PC or Server in a secure location and an administrative user is responsible for the operation of the system.  This is a light-weight task to ensure the correct operation of the system.
CalypsoPrint is started from a desktop icon and will automatically login to e-RS and scan worklists and extract eligible Referrals.

CalypsoPrint can be configured to extract referrals from specific e-RS Services, either as they arrive into the Trust or only when the referral is ‘accepted’ after clinical review on e-RS.

When a referral is identified that requires printing it is opened and its information extracted; CalypsoPrint remembers the date/time the UBRN was extracted so that it is not extracted again, unless it is subsequently amended by the referrer.
